Summary
Not far from the confluence of the Volga and Kostroma rivers is located one of the most ancient monasteries in Russia - the Holy Trinity Ipatiev Monastery. The territory of the monastery consists of two parts: the Old and the New Town. Both sites are surrounded by high stone walls.
Photographer: Dmitry Ilyich Pryanichnikov. He was fond of photography in the nineties of the nineteenth century. By the beginning of the twentieth century, he had become a reportage master, an event photographer. Its rare genre urban sketches are magnificent. He is the author of a large photographic chronicle of the life of Kostroma, its suburbs, and counties .

Недалеко от слияния рек Волги и Костромы расположен один из древнейших монастырей России - Свято-Троицкий Ипатьевский монастырь. Территория монастыря состоит из двух частей: Старого и Нового города. Оба участка обнесены высокими каменными стенами.
Фотограф: Дмитрий Ильич Пряничников. Фотографией увлекался в девяностых годах девятнадцатого века. К началу двадцатого века сделался мастером репортажа, фотографом-«событийщиком». Великолепны его редкостные жанровые городские зарисовки. Он автор большой фотографической хроники жизни Костромы, ее пригородов, уездов губернии.
