Summary
This goblet comes from the Russian Imperial Romanov family. The heirs of Ivan Nikitich Romanov (c. 1560-1645) bequeathed this goblet to his distant cousin, the second Romanov tsar Alexei Michailowitsj (1629-1676). It was displayed during grand state functions, and underscored the family’s power and age until 1918, after which its coat of arms was removed.
